Glad to see a SA Alum has been so successful in the art world!
I am friends with another young artist from Long Beach, who is currently teaching art at Howard University in Washington, D.C.. Your work is similar. His name is John David Trevino. Have you heard of him or seen his work?
Congratulations Bryan and continued success.

Yes for about a year now Ive been bringing back and practicing my skills in figurative and a so called more realistic drawing. That is what I started with and after all the different tavenues Ive investigated I find myself returning to, or full circling back with all Ive learned. Now over the next few years ill be creating a series of more representational realist type paintings the old and new mixed.....

Im excited to see more work and the transition back to the figure and realism thats comming. Im curios to see how it all merges the old and the new.

Hey man,
It's been way too long....16 years?
We should katchup and
Chat about the 21st century,,,,,specifically 2010.
- have a feeling we're
On the same cosmic page
Right now. It's rare that
I say to myself "wow, I wish
Wish I could afford that
Oil painting", but you
Current work feels like
I've been living those
Images for 15 years.
You "did it", but I don't
Think america is even
Half way thru the main course
Of what is "The Brian Heggie Show"
Let's chat. Or go to a museum, or coffee'
Or wine and cheese.
Let's go for wine and cheese.
Dude, I'm not kidding, when I'm
Rich I don't want a picasso
I want a BH!

Transcendental improvisation?
Daydream mindspace?
"In the zone?

Your use of colors feels like ideas being hurdled at me from my wall,
Each disapeering as my focus gears onto another thought/color

I tend to swing back and forth and in between "abstraction" and so called "realism" . Always pushing and pulling, and more or less it always will. I work off inspiration and a sort of channelled energy a free flow mixed with a desire to represent both the material and the spiritual. subconscious super conscious abstract representation just words to describe what I do and it really doesn't come close enough.
